About interpretation
What is simultaneous and consecutive interpretation?
Professional interpretation bridges languages in real time so your event or meeting runs smoothly.
Simultaneous interpretation means the interpreter translates in real time as the speaker talks—typically in a soundproof booth with participants listening on headsets. It is the standard for international conferences, large forums, and events where there is no natural pause. We provide full conference interpretation equipment (booths, Bosch IR and wireless systems) and experienced simultaneous interpreters across 100+ languages in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor, and Singapore.
Consecutive interpretation is when the speaker pauses and the interpreter then translates. It suits boardrooms, medical consultations, court hearings, interviews, and small meetings. No equipment is needed; our interpreters work on-site at your venue. We offer both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation on weekends. For video or phone meetings, see our online meeting interpretation service.
Whether you need a conference interpreter, a court interpreter, or real-time interpretation for a product launch or symposium, we match you with native-level linguists and handle equipment and technical support. For tech-led events, we also offer AI simultaneous interpretation with live subtitles and minimal latency.
Why it matters
Why professional interpretation services matter
Accuracy, confidentiality, and the right format make the difference between a successful event and a failed one.
Interpretation services are not just about converting words from one language to another. In legal settings, a single mistranslation can affect the outcome of a case. In medical consultations, clarity is essential for informed consent and correct treatment. In business negotiations, nuance and tone can make or break a deal. Professional interpreters are trained to preserve meaning, register, and intent—and to work within the ethics of their field (confidentiality in healthcare, neutrality in court, discretion in boardrooms).
In Malaysia and Singapore, demand for interpretation services has grown with international business, education, and migration. Companies run regional meetings and training in multiple languages; hospitals and clinics serve diverse patient populations; courts and tribunals hear cases involving non-English or non-Malay speakers. We provide conference interpretation for large events, meeting interpretation for boardrooms and negotiations, and court and medical interpretation where accuracy and certification matter. Choosing a provider with experience in your sector and a clear process for briefing and quality control reduces the risk of miscommunication and last-minute problems.
How we work
How we match interpreters to your event
Language pair, sector experience, and briefing ensure the right interpreter for your setting.
When you request an interpretation quote, we consider the language pair (e.g. English–Mandarin, Malay–Japanese), the type of event (conference, meeting, medical, legal), the duration and location, and whether you need simultaneous interpretation with equipment or consecutive interpretation without. We assign interpreters who have experience in your sector—legal, medical, technical, or business—and, where possible, we use the same interpreter across multiple sessions for consistency.
For simultaneous interpretation, we typically provide two interpreters per language so they can rotate every 20–30 minutes and maintain quality. We send a brief and any glossary or slides in advance so interpreters can prepare. For consecutive interpretation, one interpreter is usually sufficient; we confirm the venue, start time, and any special requirements (e.g. confidentiality paperwork for medical or legal). Our team handles equipment delivery and on-site technical support for simultaneous interpretation so you can focus on the content of your event.
We serve Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor, Singapore, and the wider region. Interpretation is available on weekends for conferences and meetings; book in advance to secure your language pair and date. For remote meetings, our online meeting interpretation brings the same quality to video and phone calls.
Pricing and booking
Interpretation rates and turnaround in Malaysia and Singapore
Transparent pricing from consecutive to full simultaneous with equipment.
Consecutive interpretation starts from RM750 per half day in Malaysia (Singapore: minimum SGD 500 per day; no half day in Singapore). Simultaneous interpretation with full equipment starts from RM3,000 per language in Malaysia (Singapore: minimum SGD 1,000 per day for one interpreter; no half day in Singapore). Final cost depends on language pair, duration, and delegate count. We provide a detailed quotation within 24 hours after you share your event date, venue, language requirements, and approximate duration.
There is no single “rate per hour” for interpretation services—each assignment is quoted based on the factors above. We do not add hidden fees; equipment, technician support, and interpreter travel (within the greater KL or Singapore area) are included or clearly itemised. For recurring needs (e.g. weekly medical appointments or a series of board meetings), we can arrange a retainer or block booking. Request a quote via our interpretation quote form or contact us with your requirements.

Customer journeys
Typical interpretation scenarios
From conference day to court and clinic—how we support each step.
International conference (simultaneous)
You are running a two-day regional summit with speakers and delegates from six countries. Everyone needs to hear the content in their preferred language in real time.
- You share the event dates, venue, and language pairs (e.g. English ↔ Mandarin, English ↔ Japanese).
- We propose simultaneous interpreters and equipment (booths, receivers, headsets).
- Interpreters and technicians arrive on site; we run a sound check before the first session.
- Throughout the event, interpreters work in shifts; we handle any technical or language issues.
Delegates follow every session in their language; post-event feedback is strong.
Medical consultation with a patient
A patient does not speak the doctor's language. You need a consecutive interpreter for a 30-minute consultation so the doctor can explain the diagnosis and treatment clearly.
- You book a consecutive interpreter for the appointment date and language pair.
- The interpreter arrives at the clinic, signs confidentiality paperwork, and joins the consultation.
- Doctor speaks in short segments; interpreter translates for the patient and relays the patient's answers.
Patient fully understands the diagnosis and care plan; informed consent is properly obtained.
Business negotiation (buyer and supplier)
Your team is negotiating a long-term supply agreement with a factory in Vietnam. The other party is more comfortable in Vietnamese; you need accurate, real-time interpretation so nothing is lost in translation.
- You schedule a full-day meeting and request a consecutive interpreter (Vietnamese ↔ English).
- We assign an interpreter with experience in commercial and technical terminology.
- During the meeting, the interpreter facilitates back-and-forth; you can request short private clarifications.
- Follow-up meetings or contract review can use the same interpreter for consistency.
Both sides align on terms; the deal closes with no misunderstandings.
Court hearing or deposition
A witness or defendant requires interpretation so they can participate fully in the proceeding. The court expects a qualified interpreter who can work in a legal setting.
- You provide the hearing date, court location, and language required.
- We assign an interpreter experienced in legal settings and court protocol.
- The interpreter attends the hearing, interprets everything said for the benefit of the witness/defendant and the court.
The proceeding is fair and compliant; the record is clear and complete.
