AI events need far more than conference WiFi: participants download multi-gigabyte models and container images, run AI coding assistants all day, and work on cloud GPU platforms that demand stable low-latency connections. We combine multiple internet sources (dedicated fibre, multi-carrier 5G, and Starlink) into one Peplink SpeedFusion bonded pool, deploy high-density WiFi 6E access points sized for laptop-heavy rooms, pre-stage local LAN caches of the models and packages your participants will download, and keep an engineer on site throughout.
How much bandwidth does an AI hackathon or tech event need?
Far more than a conference of the same size. We plan 5–10 Mbps sustained per builder plus a setup surge where each laptop pulls 20–50 Mbps downloading models and environments. A 100-person hackathon is comfortable with roughly 1 Gbps aggregate downlink and strong uplink capacity, backed by local caching; a 300-person event should plan for 2 Gbps or more. We model your event's actual workload during planning and size the multi-source internet pool accordingly.
