What ICA Translation Actually Requires
A credible ICA translation page should be clear about the accepted routes, not pretend that private agencies are officially endorsed by ICA.
Official ICA Position
ICA requires official English translations for documents in languages other than English and does not endorse private translation companies.
Accepted Translation Paths
ICA lists embassy translations, notary public translations, and private translations that are embassy-attested or notarised.
What We Prepare
Translife prepares the translation, certification statement, name consistency checks and notarisation coordination when your submission route needs it.
ICA's public guidance says original documents and official translations are needed for documents in languages other than English, and that insufficient documentation may cause non-acceptance or additional document requests. Check ICA's current wording before submission, especially if ICA has issued a specific request for your case.
Guidance reviewed: 17 July 2026.
Documents
ICA Document Translation for Citizenship, ICA LTVP and Student's Pass
We focus on the personal, family, education and employment documents requested for these ICA applications.

Built for ICA document review, not generic translation.
Our quality review keeps names, dates, relationships, places of birth, issuing authorities and document numbers easy to compare between the source and English translation. We also check that stamps, name order and structured certificate fields are not lost in a free-form paragraph.
Translife prepares certified English translations with a document-first workflow: every visible field is accounted for, certificate layout is kept easy to compare, and family files are checked for spelling consistency before final certification.
Process
How Our ICA Translation Service Works
A controlled workflow for accuracy, certification and deadline-sensitive immigration submissions.
Step 1
Send Clear Scans
Upload every page of the non-English document, including the back page, seals, stamps and handwritten notes.
Step 2
Requirement Check
We identify the ICA application and the published embassy, notary or attested private-translation route you intend to use.
Step 3
Translate and Review
A professional translator prepares the English translation, then a reviewer checks names, dates, stamps and layout.
Step 4
Coordinate the Official Step
For a privately created translation, we can coordinate the selected embassy-attestation or Notary Public step.
Step 5
Deliver for Submission
Receive the digital copy first for checking, followed by the final certified or notarised set as required.
Avoid delays
Common ICA Translation Mistakes We Check Before Delivery
These are the small document issues that can create extra clarification rounds in an immigration application.
Only translating the front page of a two-sided certificate.
Missing stamps, footnotes, seals, addresses or handwritten remarks.
Different English spellings of the same name across family documents.
Uploading a blurry scan that forces uncertain text in the translation.
Assuming a private translation is automatically endorsed by ICA.
Waiting until the ICA submission deadline before checking notarisation needs.

Get an ICA Translation Quote Before You Commit
The final price depends on language, word count, legibility, deadline and whether notarisation or hard-copy delivery is required.
Singapore certified translation from
SGD 60-80
per certified page for standard ICA document translation.
Embassy, notarial, SAL, courier and other official steps are quoted separately when applicable.
Singapore enquiries are quoted in SGD. Send the source document, target deadline and ICA application type so we can confirm the translation scope and whether the chosen route also needs notarisation, embassy attestation, courier handling or a clearer source copy.
For urgent submissions, include your ICA deadline in the quote request so our team can confirm whether same-day or next-day handling is realistic.

FAQ
ICA Translation Services FAQ
Straight answers about certified translation, notarisation and Singapore ICA document submissions.
Does ICA endorse any private translation company?
No. ICA states that it does not endorse private translation companies or entities. Translife is an independent provider that prepares translations and coordinates a published official route; ICA decides whether the submitted documents are sufficient.
What translations does ICA accept for non-English documents?
ICA lists translations provided by the embassy of the country or place that issued the document, translations produced by a Notary Public in Singapore or that issuing country or place, and privately created translations attested by that embassy or notarised by a Notary Public in Singapore or the issuing country or place.
Which ICA applications can require translations?
Non-English supporting documents may appear in Singapore citizenship, ICA Long-Term Visit Pass, Student's Pass, change-of-particulars, visa and other ICA workflows. The live checklist for the specific application controls which records and official route are required.
Do I need notarisation for ICA translation services?
It depends on the document and application route. For privately created translations, ICA's public guidance includes notarisation or embassy attestation as accepted paths. Send us the ICA request or checklist and we will advise the practical route before translation begins.
How fast can ICA translation be completed?
Simple certificates are often completed in 1 to 2 working days after confirmation. Larger family files, handwritten records, notarisation or courier delivery can add time, so urgent ICA deadlines should be shared before quotation.
Can I translate my own document for ICA?
ICA's published options do not treat an unsupported self-translation as a complete route. A privately created translation must be attested by the relevant embassy or notarised by a Notary Public in Singapore or the country or place that issued the document.
